Route “Zhoshy”

Zhezkazgan – Zhoshykhan – Dombaul - Alashakhan. 

The length of the route is 160km. The time of the route including the excursion is 4-5 hours. 50 km of the route is a ground road. The rest of the way is grade and asphalt. The route goes along the Kengir river, through Promyshlenny, Malshybai villages and Stapayev city. There is no any kind of services. Water and food must be taken. The first stop (50 km) is the necropolis “Zhoshykhan”. Zhoshykhan is the son of Genghis Khan, the father of the famous Batukhan (Batyi). Zhoshykhan lived in early 13^th century. He is the ancestor of all Kazakh khans. Nearby the mausoleum there are remains of the first capital of the Golden Horde – Orda Bazarr. In the necropolis besides the mausoleum of Zhoshykhan there are remains of 24 mausoleums of Golden Horde’s period. 
Then after 7 km the next sightseeing is the necropolis “Dombaul”. There you can see the unique installation of the Oguz-Kipchak period (9-11 c.c.). The domed installation is a ritual place of religious events. After 25 km there is Alashakhan mausoleum. This is the first installation built in honor of Kazakh Khanate foundation.
