About restoration activities
Restoration is work aimed at restoring architectural monuments. The purpose of such events is to bring dilapidated objects to their original appearance, both in appearance and in the quality of work. The work of the restorers is a huge responsibility, since it is necessary to fully preserve the historical and cultural value of the object. The main rule when carrying out restoration work is to preserve the authenticity and identity of the architectural monument.
Architectural monuments are especially difficult to restore, because:
1. Under the influence of external factors (climatic and natural phenomena), irreversible aging of materials occurs, that is, the physical destruction of the object.
2. Often the modern use of buildings and their original purpose are completely different. And in some cases, the original function of an architectural monument is not taken into account at all.
Features of the restoration of architectural monuments
The restoration process consists of the following main stages:
1. Assessment of the current state of the building.
2. Study of the initial appearance of the object using scientific and historical materials.
3. Justification of the need for restoration intervention.
4. Development of a detailed project of restoration works.
5. Search for materials that are able to restore the original appearance of the building with maximum accuracy.
6. Works on the preservation of the architectural monument in the process of restoration.
7. Carrying out the previously planned restoration measures.
In the process of restoration work, new stucco parts, as well as carved, wooden and metal structures are being restored or produced. In addition, restoration activities include plastering and painting of buildings, roof restoration and much more.
