The working group carried out an appropriate assessment
On January 24, 2019, in Almaty there was held a meeting of the National Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The meeting was opened with respect to the memory of Yelena Khorosh - the member of the UNESCO Committee, the author of the nomination “Traditional Spring Rites of the Kazakh Horse Breeders”. Welcome words were made by the General Secretary of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO, Dinara Issanova and the specialist on cultural issues of the UNESCO Cluster Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aigul Khalifova. The results of the work of the National Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage for 2018 were made by the Chairperson of the Committee, Hanzada Yessenova. The meeting participants discussed the priority areas of work of the committee, the choice of nomination from the preliminary National List to prepare to include them to the Representative List of ICH of humanity.
The director of Ulytau reserve museum, the initiator and organizer of the nomination “Traditional spring rites of Kazakh horse breeders”, entered the Representative List of the ICH of Humanity in UNESCO in November 2018, also took part in the meeting. The employees of Ulytau reserve-museum Emma Usmanova, Akhmet Toktabay and Baktiyar Kozhakhmetov were awarded letters of thanks on behalf of the National Commission of UNESCO of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
